What is a Doula?
A person who will work with your partner or care giver by utilizing everyones strengths. We do not provide clinical or medical tasks such as taking temperatures or blood pressure, fetal heart tones, vaginal exams or postpartem clinical care. We do not replace doctors, nurses or midwives. We sometimes act as a go between which can enhance communication and understanding.
What we do provide is contant reassurance, offer comfort, give encouragement but
most importantly we treat you with the respect you deserve.
A Doula helps to take some pressure off your partner or care giver so they can enjoy the birthing experience and participate more.
Doula's help to create a positive environment to enhance an early mother - infant relationship, we do this by working with you during your pregnacy, during the birth and after the baby is born.
